The Long Version
Hello! Most people in my social circles refer to me as "Raiden" or "system." (And that's RYE-den, not RAY-den as you may be thinking. Due to how English functions, no one gets it right the first time. You are not at fault.) I was born in Florida but happily raised and living in Wisconsin since the late 2000s. You may find me hanging around in a few different communities. Some of my more prominent interests are (in no particular order):
- Video editing
- Creative software
- vib-ribbon
- My Little Pony (especially Friendship is Magic)
- Battle for Dream Island
- General rhythm gaming
- Minecraft (especially Beta 1.8 - 1.8.9)
- Linux and FOSS
I usually spend a lot of my free time creating things. As an artist, I have taken on many different mediums, of which are listed below.
- Video-based Content Creation / Video Editing
- Video Tennis (also known as YouTube Poop Tennis, historically)
This is perhaps the skill that I have been stuck with regularly for the longest time out of these, at least under my definitions. My roots in the Video Tennis scene date back to December 2016; I was 11 years old at the time. It also marks the start of me regularly doing video editing tasks in general. My current tennis projects are found on my "system128" YouTube channel, the one with the "tem" in it.
- Explainer Videos / Video Essays
I have done several projects that include voiceovers from myself. The majority of the music that I have been putting in these videos in recent times has come from either myself or mutuals/friends. These videos are most prominently featured on my "sys128" YouTube channel, without the "tem." My most of famous of these include a for-fun proposal for an "extension" to the Roman Numeral system. - Digital Drawing
Over the years, I have familiarized myself with a bunch of different ways to use different drawing programs and post what I draw online. I usually draw ponies and furries. Here is what I have eventually decided to get more proficient in.
- Vector Art
Involves making images within a vector-editing program (duh). I like to use Inkscape to achieve this. I find the SVG format to be very versatile for vector art!
- Handdrawn
With handdrawn raster images, I like to make it look like a colored-pencil type drawing, which is shown in the linework and the fills. I have been using an Android app called "Sony Sketch" since about 2017. Even though the app itself has long been dead and, more recently, delisted from the Google Play Store, it's still my app of choice.
- Music
Probably one of the lesser explored territories for me, but I do have an okay-ish grasp on music theory. The stuff I have produced is maybe half-decent. I seem to do well with jungle / drum and bass.
I also fall under the LGBTQ+ umbrella. In case people need the specifics:
- I am gay. (I am attracted to other males)
- I consider myself a femboy. (I express myself more femininely, or otherwise don't fall under typical masculine or "male" expressions or mannerisms)
- I am a cis ally for the trans community.
- Most people use he/him to refer to me, but I accept they/them as well!
I'm also on the autism spectrum, which has affected social ability and cues since youth, and plays a part in making the transition to adulthood difficult for me. I may hyperfixate, fidget, or have rapid mood changes. (My PDD-NOS diagnosis was around 2008, would be classified generally as ASD if I were to have been diagnosed post-2012)
